What is Fountain of Life?

Fountain of Life is a liquid botanical extract derived from the Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) that grows in the pristine forests of Northern Finland. Adapted to thrive in harsh northern climates, this tree has been found to contain high levels of naturally occurring plant compounds called lignans, including the prominent lignan 7-hydroxymatairesinol (7-HMR).

Lignans are antioxidants present in the cell walls of plants, and the extract is designed to help support the body’s natural balance and protection at a cellular level.

Taken orally or used topically as part of a daily wellness routine, Fountain of Life is genuinely one of a kind. Backed by science and trusted worldwide, over 1.5 million bottles shared across 141 countries.

Pure and Potent for Incredible Results

Fountain of Life is nature’s most powerful lignan source, providing a strong antioxidant supply to protect us against free radicals.

High performance functional food that protects against free-radicals

Fountain of Life utilises the power of lignans from the Norwegian Spruce Tree. Its incredible protective properties serves to supplement our nutrient poor, refined foods.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are unstable molecules that contain an unpaired electron. They are naturally produced in the body during normal metabolic processes and can also form due to environmental factors such as pollution, cigarette smoke, and radiation.

Because they are unstable, free radicals tend to react with other molecules in the body, which can lead to cellular damage affecting proteins, cell membranes, and DNA. This process is commonly referred to as oxidative stress.

In small amounts, free radicals play a role in normal biological functions, including aspects of the immune response. However, when present in excess, they may contribute to cellular damage associated with aging and various health conditions.

Source of free radicals

What are Lignans?

Lignans are plant nutrients that neutralize the impact of free radicals on our bodies. Free radical activity that leads to oxidative stress, the gateway to many significant health issues, can be neutralized with dietary lignans. As free radicals are molecules missing an electron, lignans have the unique property of being able to loan an electron without themselves becoming a free radical.

The highest quality and quantity of lignans are in the Norwegian Spruce Tree growing in Northern Finland.

A patented process was used to extract the powerful lignan 7-hydroxymatairesinol (7-HMR) from the stem heartwood of this tree.

Highest quality & quantity of lignans

Fountain of Life is the complete lignan source, including 7 essential lignans, predominantly 7-HMR, providing the strength and variety unmatched by any product, fruit, or vegetable on the market. Fountain of Life is your finest product to augment your diet, providing you with a powerful source of lignans that may potentially improve your quality of life.

The Lignans in Fountain of Life vs Flaxseed

Fountain of Life contains the lignans from the Norwegian Spruce tree. It metabolizes in the same manner as flax and sesame seed, as they convert to enterolactone in the body so that they may be utilized. The body must cleave the chemical bonds in the lignan found in flaxseed, secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG), so it can be absorbed. Once absorbed in the small intestine, it is converted to enterodiol, a human lignan. Enterodiol eventually becomes enterolactone, the most potent form of an enterolignan. Flaxseed is not an efficient lignan source, as uncleaved flaxseed is discarded and any that is absorbed needs further conversion. The primary lignan in Fountain of Life is 7-HMR that converts directly to enterlactone, being absorbed readily.

Which lignans are found in Fountain of Life

Fountain of Life is the complete lignan source, including 7 essential lignans, predominantly 7-HMR, providing the strength and variety unmatched by any product, fruit or vegetable on the market: 7-hydroxymatairesinol (HMR), 7-hydroxymatairesinol (HMR2), alpha conidendrin, lariciresinol, liovil, secoisolariciresinol, and matairesinol.

Lignans benefits

Supports Heart Health

Studies show that people who eat plenty of nutrient-rich fruit and vegetables, lower their risk of heart disease by up to 65%. There are many studies that prove that phytonutrients are important for cardiovascular health.

Supports Menopausal Well-being

Research on lignans such as 7-hydroxymatairesinol (HMR lignan) suggests they are efficiently absorbed and converted into enterolactone in the body. Some studies in postmenopausal women have reported improvements in the frequency of hot flashes and overall menopausal comfort when included as part of the diet.

Provides Antioxidant Support

Lignans are polyphenol compounds that contribute to the body’s antioxidant defences. Antioxidants help neutralise free radicals, which can otherwise contribute to cellular stress and premature ageing.

Supports Cognitive Health

Oxidative stress is thought to play a role in age-related cognitive decline. Antioxidant-rich plant compounds, including lignans, are being studied for their potential role in supporting long-term brain health.

Supports Prostate Health

Age-related prostate changes are common in men. Diets rich in plant phytonutrients, including lignans, are being researched for their potential to support normal prostate function and urinary comfort.

Supports Healthy Hair Follicles

Norwegian Spruce Tree lignans may influence enzymes involved in hormone metabolism. Early research suggests compounds such as 7-hydroxymatairesinol may play a role in maintaining healthy hair follicle function.

Supports Healthy Metabolism

Lignans may contribute to healthy metabolic processes, including glucose regulation and fat metabolism, when combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Gut and Microbiome Support

Lignans are converted by beneficial gut bacteria into compounds such as enterolactone. This interaction highlights the close relationship between diet, gut microbiota and overall wellbeing. A diverse, plant-rich diet supports gut health and contributes to the balance of the gut-brain axis.

Supports Healthy Weight Management

Some research suggests lignans may influence fat metabolism and metabolic markers when included in the diet alongside healthy lifestyle habits.

Immune System Booster

These plant compounds are converted by the body into enterolactone, which possesses anti-inflammatory properties that help maintain a balanced immune response and prevent chronic inflammation.

Fountain of Life Uses

Daily Dosage

The daily dosage is usually dependent upon the body mass of the person. We recommend taking a minimum of 5 drops per day for users weighing 50 kg or less and 10 drops for those weighing over 50 kg. The users weighing over 100 kg should consider taking more than 10 drops to receive the maximum dietary benefit from Fountain of Life. The general rule is to add 1 drop per every 10 kg of body weight.

However, enterolignans in the human body have a half-life of about 5-6 hours. This means that at its peak level in the body, the effective concentration is halved during this time frame. To maintain strong enterolignan levels, it is best to consume Fountain of Life three times a day; in the morning, at noon and in the evening.

Nutritional needs can vary depending on body weight, lifestyle, and personal wellness goals. While the minimum recommended daily intake above provides a general guideline for healthy people, some choose to gradually increase their intake to higher levels to suit their individual needs.
