SafeSalt's History
SafeSalt Australia was first established by Stephen Glynn Behnke, affectionately known as “Steve the Salt Man.” From July 3, 1952, to January 25, 2022, Steve’s life consisted of many roles: husband, brother, father of five, and a friend to countless people. Natural health was a passion that defined his existence.
After years of recklessly mistreating his own body, the signs of his choices began to take their toll. A transformational journey unfolded, one that consumed him in relentless research. Day in and day out, he immersed himself in the world of alternative therapies, driven by an unwavering thirst for knowledge. This monumental quest ultimately birthed SafeSalt, a testament to the power of natural solutions in the pursuit of better health.
But what truly set Steve apart was his genuine care for his customers. They weren’t just buyers of salt; they were companions on the journey to wellness. His family often discovered him on the phone, lending an empathetic ear, offering guidance, and unwavering support. His Daughter asked him once why he decided to sell salt, he answered “because I like to help people”.
One year after Steve’s passing, a new chapter for SafeSalt began as Raz Marcovich acquired SafeSalt to continue Steve’s legacy.
Raz shared the same passion for improving lives through better health and had a deep, personal motivation, having spent over a decade searching for solutions to enhance daily health and wellbeing due to his family’s health problems.
With a fresh and youthful perspective, Raz has ambitious plans for SafeSalt. He plans to introduce a new range of Himalayan Salt products to further improve health and wellbeing.
Our Products
Our Himalayan Salt also known as Halite; is a pristine salt that is mined by hand it is derived from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.
The harvested ancient sea salt deposits are then stone ground and are the most pure type of salt available on earth.
Himalayan Salt crystals are high in minerals and vary in colour from absolute white, different shades of pink, to deep red, the red colours are the result of high iron and mineral content, it is derived from seams erupting from stratum laid down over 250 million years ago. Himalayan Salt contains 84 of the 92 elements naturally occurring in Mother Earth.
This is significantly more mineral content than the 54 elements derived from ordinary sea-salt.
Himalayan Salt is made the most efficient provider of mineral nourishment due to the great pressure under which it was created.
Great pressure over considerable time results in a crystalline structure infused with terrestrial elements.
The resultant salt molecules are receptacles of elemental virtue garnered from ages long before industrial pollution, a pristine superfine mineral-rich source of elemental nourishment of the highest purity and potency.
